Cognitive health, learning, and talking to someone. Therapy is the clearest example.

The Heard helps young men talk about what they carry, find care they can afford, and stay in school while they do.
Why we exist
Many young men get through school, sports and work while quietly struggling. Grades slip, motivation drops, and nobody asks. Money and shame then stand between them and help. The Heard is here for that gap.
Anonymous stories show that nobody is the only one.
Funding for therapy sessions that would otherwise go unpaid for.
Scholarships for students whose grades were hit by what they were going through.
What is The Heard
A community-driven foundation based in California. We raise money and awareness for men's mental health, and we work to bring down the stigma that keeps men quiet. Every program rests on one idea: you steady yourself through three things at once.
Cognitive health, learning, and talking to someone. Therapy is the clearest example.
How you move, sleep and eat shapes how you feel. We treat it as part of mental health.
What grounds you. For many of us that is faith. For others it is expression, purpose or gratitude.
A stool with three legs stands on any floor. With Mind, Body and Soul under you, a hard season is easier to stay upright through.
Impact, as planned
These programs are designed and named. They open once our 501(c)(3) application is approved. Nothing here has been awarded yet.
Financial help for young men whose academic record was affected by mental health challenges. Applicants share their story and goals in an application and interview.
Grants to therapy practices and mental health platforms so they can offer free or heavily subsidized sessions to young men who cannot afford care.
Funding and resources for students and leaders who run peer support groups and open conversations about mental health.
Annual
Our yearly day on the course. Players, sponsors and volunteers come together to raise money for therapy grants, scholarships and our other programs, and to talk about men's mental health in the open.
The stories
The archive opens with our first approved stories. Each one is anonymous unless the author chooses otherwise.
Personal struggles, told plainly.
The moment someone opened up.
What recovery and progress look like.
